Large businesses have big budgets for marketing and promotion and as a result, people gravitate towards buying their products. What problem does this cause? What could be done to encourage people to buy local products?

Branded companies allocate a huge sum of money for propagating their products, which in turn attracts people and eventually they shop these promoted items.
Such
kind of shopping habits does not focus on the quality of the objects and discourages small scale industries. Strict laws should be enforced for restricting budget spent on marketing and creating awareness of local items. Large scale businesses use ad agencies and celebrities to promote their products, thereby affecting the standards of commodities. When a celebrity acts in an advertisement, which promotes a brand, the product automatically gets registered in the minds of commoners, who admire him \ her.
This
drives them to purchase
such
goods without checking its durability. A recent survey says that, every branded object has an alternative product which is 70% of better standards, on an average, and which is produced in our local markets. Since

Also
, it should encourage awareness programs to educate the public about the goodness of our local products. In

However
, it can be arrested, if the administering body implements stern regulations to monitor funds allocated for
such
promotions and good schemes to encourage our small-scale industries.
