Some people say that in all levels of education, from primary schools to universities, too much time is pent on learning facts and not enough learning practical skills. Do you agree or Disagree?

Few people believe that significant
time
is invested in educating facts
instead
of practical skills at schools and universities. I strongly agree with
this
thought that facts give more importance. At schools, the entire curriculum is designed and published based on proven facts. The percentage of grades provided to students are based on
theory exams
Suggestion
the theory exams
which are conducted during mid and final semesters. Only 10% of scores
are provided
Suggestion
provide
for practical examinations. Students read the entire book, memorize the concepts and complete the tests every year.
Besides
, the
practicals
a customary way of operation or behavior
practices
performed are regular things which do not add any value (or) provides room for creative thinking. The kids are not provided with the required freedom to apply
knowledge
and learn. At college, the situation is comparatively better than schools. A College education does dedicate practical papers. Separate
time
is spent on practical and individual papers are available as well. The students get the opportunity during the final semester to display the project completed for evaluation.
However
, the real problem is that the faculty, students and universities do not take the project display seriously. They are mostly of a tradition to exhibit any project to complete the semester.
This
leaves very less room for innovation and applies practical
knowledge
based on the learnings completed. In my opinion, we should bring in more important to improve practical
knowledge
of kids starting from school. The majority of the population struggle in the corporate world after completing studies due to lack of practical approach which is not provided during college and school
time
. The need of the hour is to have a dedicated subject and
time
allocated to allow students the space to apply practical
knowledge
. The projects performed at school and universities should vary every year so that it provides a challenge to every student to attempt and learn. To conclude, it is required to revamp the entire education system to prioritize practical
knowledge
ahead of facts to improve the overall skills of every student.
