It's generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance for music and sport, and others are not. However, it's sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician. Discuss both ideas by giving your opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.

Talent is skill or aptitude in a particular domain, what makes you successful in it is your

towards it. We are born with a mind full of potential and as we age, we start to develop interests. No one becomes a good musician or sports person if he/she dislikes it, so I would say we aren't born with certain talents, but we develop an inclination towards some, as we start learning it we get good at it. Many successful athletes and musicians, have been playing since their early ages, which amounts to most of their life,

following your passion seems to be a wise decision in hindsight, but in early ages, it can be difficult to find, leading to wrong decisions and disappointment. Numerous cases have been observed where people without any prior knowledge or inclination have been successful at a particular skill, just by training. A child's brain can adapt to changes very well, if we blend it with the right amount inspiration and efforts towards something, they might grow up to be really good at it.

In conclusion, I would like to say, supporting a child towards the interest he/she develops weighs higher than channeling his/her interest towards a particular field, after all, the goal is to be talented and field should not matter.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
