The crime rate is nowadays decreasing as compared to the past due to the advance in technology which can prevent and solve crime. Do you agree or disagree?

The decrease in crime rates with the advancement in technology is debatable. Some people believe that technological progress in recent times has helped in controlling crimes significantly. The essay will discuss why there has been a decrease in felonies nowadays with improvements in technology.
First
, the installation of many high tech surveillance cameras in areas where crime is prevalent helps in controlling crime effectively. They capture

real time
footage of the offence committed by the criminals and act as a crucial piece of evidence during the police investigation.
As a result
, the police is now able to bring
perpetrators

the perpetrators
to justice in a few days.
For example
, in the Delhi Nirbhaya rape case, the CCTV cameras helped police and investigators to catch criminals within a week by sharing useful live feed data regarding the bus where the incident occurred, the location, the time and felonies movements. Because of their enormous benefits, they are used extensively by law enforcement agencies in reducing crimes.
Second
, the presence of the central locking, alarming system and electronic immobilisers in modern cars has led to a reduction in
car
thefts significantly. When someone forgets
locking

to lock
his
car
, the central locking will initiate automatic locking preventing easy access to the thief.
Moreover
, even if the burglar tries to open the
car
, the alarm will activate and starts beeping non stop alerting everyone around.
Also
, the electronic immobiliser will not start the engine unless powered using a key with the same matching code.
Hence
, all these measures have almost made it difficult for the thief to steal the
car
.
For example
, in the United States of America,
car
theft levels have dropped to half as compared to twenty years back. Because of their enormous benefits,
car
manufacturers are continuously upgrading these features so that it becomes virtually impossible for criminals to steal any
car
in the long run. To conclude, there is no doubt in our minds that technological improvements are instrumental in preventing and reducing crimes in our society, thereby making it a place worth living.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
