Whether degrees or soft skills are more essential in order to get a decent job is a highly debatable discussion point. From this writer's perspective, while soft skills and experience are required to be successful in the business field, academic jobs can guarantee people an academic job and may unobtainable knowledge outside of college. It must be understood that degrees can help people to get academic jobs such as doctors or engineers which play an unreplaceable role in society. In other words, being the core of a society means that those jobs always demand a high number of new manpower and never can be replaced. However, on the grounds that academic jobs need precise accuracy, only people who are specially trained through university can take it, making higher education the only way to get an academic position.
