This
essay will attempt to give a balanced overview on the statement suggesting that the experiences we may have had in our life matter as much as the characteristics we are born with. Personally, I believe that, we all are born with the same basic set of characteristics, it is our environment and our experiences, particularly in our childhood which mould us

the adults we grow up to be. The love and the care we receive from the world, or
dichotomously
the anger and the hate we get back plays a pivotal role in shaping our personalities.
In contrast
, there are a few exceptions to the above statement, medically, science has proven that certain people are predisposed to behave in a certain way due to their birth defects.
For example
, an injury to the

the parturition process in human beings; having a baby; the process of giving birth to a child
childbirth

as having a lack of empathy. There’s an inextricable evidence which links our personality to the characteristics we are born with. To conclude, it’s a complex mixture of the characteristics we are born with and the experiences we have in our life that make us who we are. It is
thus
my strong belief that it would be primitive of us to only side with one argument and ignore the other.
