Food travels thousand of miles from far to consumer. Some people think it could be better to our enviroment and economic of people only are local produced food. What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Nowadays we can buy
food
that is
made in places that are far from us. There are some debates about whether it is positive or negative. I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the long-time travelling
food
in
this
essay. The
first
advantage is that our lives become more
colorful
having striking color
colourful
because of that. We can eat
food
from all over the
country
and all over the world.
On the other hand
, farmers can sell their products to the whole
country
, even export them to foreign countries,
thus
helping them make more money. It is a win-win for the consumers and the
food
providers. More importantly, the ability of travelling
food
thousand of miles helps solving the problem of lacking
food
. If a city or a
country
suffers from starvation,
food
can be easily transferred to that place. It is a big achievement in human history.
However
, there are
also
some disadvantages. Local farmers now have to face the competition from farmers in other cities or other countries.
Moreover
, if a
country
has very little ability to provide
food
by itself and has to rely on
food
imported from other countries, it may have a negative influence on its national security. It is less likely to happen in my opinion because the importance of
food
is a common knowledge now. Usually, the government will make sure it has the ability to provide enough
food
for its own. From where I stand, I think it is a positive development that
food
can travel far to the consumer. We now have a better life due to
this
development.
