Nowadays, many students who finish school face a dilemma; to be precise, more and more students choose to have a gap
year
instead
of going
to higher education institutions. Even though
this
phenomenon has many virtues, the disadvantages should not be underestimated.
On
one
hand, spending
one
year
prior to university studies offers unique benefits.
First
of all, I am confident that hands-on experience is a paramount benefit for students. In
fact
, not only will they acquire a vital experience
work, but they can
also
gain a spherical view about their selections.
In other words
, choosing a profession is not a laughing matter,
this
choose happens, for the most part, only once, and
therefore
, students will definitely have the change to get a rough idea about their preferences.
For example
, if someone wants to be an Architect, they can work for a view moths
a building site and get a glimpse of their future profession.
Additionally
, working for about a
year
, young adults will put aside some money for their studies. Admittedly, studies are costly and the idea of getting funds predominantly from parents lead to no self-reliance.
Finally
, not to mention the
fact
that they will have some significant
time
ahead so that they will take the proper decision.
On the other hand
, choosing a gap
year
has, of course, its drawbacks.
One
of the most essential negative, in my opinion, is the
fact
that students lose contact with
. To put it in another way, studying is not a walk in the park and many people strive to get used to delve into topics
such
as Mathematics and Physics, to name but a few.
Therefore
, since higher studies courses
a sequence, to a higher level, of school ones, it will take considerable
time
until a student revise their knowledge. Another every bit as significant shortcoming of
this
selection is the lack of
time
, which in turn, leads to a lack of competitive edge.
In other words
, the process of finding a workplace in
ever-changing competitive market will be delayed for
one
year
. By doing
this
, the prospective worker might have less skills against other peer workers who exploit their
time
to an optimum extent and they will have a permanent job earlier.
Last
but not least, it is the
fact
of obligatory military service that should not be forgotten. The
fact
of the matter is that some countries
this
,
such
as my country, which is a serious obstacle to
this
procedure. To put the barrier into
time
, it means
one
more
year
and it might be assumed as a supplementary gap
year
by some people.
All in all,
although
a
year
offrom a particular thing or place or position
between school and university offers crucial pros, has
also
its worrying cons. It is my firm belief that the final choice depends on
student's circumstancesSuggestion
the student's circumstances
, like incentives, goals, values,
time
and financial situation.
