Scientific Research should be carried out and controlled by the government rather than private companies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Research
has been an integral part of the human
life
from the historical times. It has played an important role in significantly improving the quality of
life
by various technological advancements. While, some argue that the scientific
research
should be taken care by the
government
, I have a viewpoint that private sector should have
onus

for it. Apparently, a science
research
requires huge investment, which is easier for the private sector.
In addition
to
this
, private companies can efficiently monitor the progress and find ways to lower the
research
cost as it will help them sustain for a longer period of time.Whereas,
government
should spend people's money on rudimentary facilities
such
as health, education, food, transport to name some.
For instance
, in an underdeveloped country where people have a paucity to suffice to
fundamental requirements

sufficient funds to invest in

.
Conversely
, if
government
takes over the researches, there would be
confinement

of ideas which can be detrimental for the science. There are lots of examples in the past where
life
changing discoveries and inventions
were done

was done
by an individual or a small group, which would not have been possible if
research
was made restricted outside the
government
boundaries.
For instance
, a great scientist Thomas Edison invented bulb alone. In the nutshell, the scientific inventions and discoveries should not be limited to only the
government
control. In my opinion, the private sector can reduce the time taken and the amount spent on any
research
, which is beneficial for the humankind.
Therefore
, the future of science and fascinating discoveries lies in the hands of the private companies.
