Some people think that government is wasting money on the arts and that this money could be spent elsewhere. To what extent do you agree with this view?

The
art
reflects the culture of the
country
and depicts the creativity of individuals. Some people argue that the
government
should spend funds for the improvement of other sectors rather than investing in the
art
. I believe the
art
is as crucial as any other sector and should receive support from the
government
. The
art
is considered as a national interest and there are several reasons why the
government
should invest money in the
this
. One of the predominant reasons is that
art
reflects the culture of the
country
and promotes peoples understanding of their culture and architecture.
Secondly
,
art
attracts the tourists from the states and
this
brings revenue to the
country
.
For example
, the historical buildings and temples in India, which are attracting tourists from other countries, generate revenue for the
country
.
Thirdly
, museums and historical buildings, requires staff to preserve and protect them from damage,
this
has created employment for hundreds of people.
Moreover
, viewing and practicing arts are good sources of venting out stress and recreate. Without
government
funding, many of the
art
forms will die, and that will be an immense loss to the nation. Encouragement of arts from
government
improves the livelihood of thousands of people who base their career in the arts.
This
proves beneficial both to people who work on arts and others who enjoy
art
.
However
, spending on the arts should not be at the expense of other sectors
such
as healthcare, education, and defence. They are certainly more vital and should receive more funding, but it is just that
art
should not be neglected. In conclusion, considering the advantages, it is clear that investing in
art
is not squandering the funds. Since every sector has its contribution to the development of the
country
, the
government
should distribute the money evenly, to all including the
art
sector.
