Some people feel that governments should take a large proportion of people’s salaries to pay for necessary public services such as roads and schools. Others feel that high taxes are a bad thing. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There is a growing concern in many countries about how to use taxes. Many people are convinced that the authorities should raise taxes to pay for essential public services
such
as roads and schools, while others believe that higher taxes would cause some detrimental effects. On the one hand, advocates of increasing tariffs say that these would have significant positive impacts on the communities. They argue that more taxes collected means better funds for public services. In fact, all the existing public facilities
such
as education, military forces, hospitals or infrastructures rely on the state budget, which usually earn no profit. In order to have sufficient resources, higher taxes would be an inevitable trend.
For example
, the money coming from those taxes could be used to build more schools for children or upgrade roads
instead
of lending money from investors.
On the other hand
, opponents of government tax collection hold a view that raising tariff could do more harm than good to social welfare and services. Since businesses are the one who pay taxes, higher tariffs would cut the foundation of those companies.
As a result
, it would bring small companies or entrepreneurs to the verge of bankruptcy, which might cause an upsurge in unemployment rate. Apparently, when people are unemployed, there would be less taxes to collect, leading to a lower state budget. All things considered, it is undeniable that raising taxes would cause some negative impacts. Even though it could be a bad thing, increasing taxes still has
it’s
of a thing, of it; possessive form of "it"
its
own benefits.
