Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films. Why could this be? Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?

The prevalence of entertainment has been a growing concern over the past few years. One of the most common entertainment forms is a movie which many people prefer to choose foreign films than domestic ones. There could be several reasons for
this
trend, and I believe that governments should support more the local
film
industries. There are various reasons why many people enjoy on foreign films than the locally produced films.
Firstly
, the industrial
film
establishments in these certain countries have huge budgets for action and movie effects
such
as shoot scenes, high technology background in spectacular locations.
For example
, Hollywood is a prominent place which produces various blockbusters
such
as Avatar having a diverse Oscar Award.
Secondly
, the reason why these foreign films are so successful as they have the most famous actor and actress, along with the most accomplished producers and directors. The poor quality,

suffers in comparison. In my view, governments should act the leading supporter

financially. In every country, there may be talented amateur
film-makers
a producer of motion pictures
filmmakers
filmmaker
who just need to be given the opportunity to prove themselves. To compete with big-budget productions from overseas, these people need money to pay for
film
crews, actors and a host of other costs related to producing high-quality films. If governments did help with these costs, they would see an increase in employment in the
film
industry, income from
film
sales, and perhaps even a rise in tourist numbers. New Zealand,
for example
, has seen an increase in tourism related to the 'Lord of the Rings' films, which were partly funded by government subsidies. In conclusion, as mention above, the governments increase the financial support to the locally produced films could help the national films become more competitive than the foreign ones.
