The government should not waste money on arts as this money would be better spent on other projects like sanitation or infrastructure. Do you agree with the above statement?

The arts have always been the essential part of anyone's life and so for countries. Some people believe that government should spend the tax money on basic needs
such
as on cleanliness and infrastructure for the future of citizens
instead
of spending on the Arts. I am against
this
opinion and share reasons in the following paragraphs. The foremost reason is that Arts is the national interest and it reflects the national heritage of the country. Governments should spend ad preserve the cultural heritage of the nation so that future generations can get these treasures.
Furthermore
, skills like music and dance are considered as profession by many. Encouragement of these talents improves their livelihood. Another reason is concerned with the revenue. Museum, art galleries and monuments attract the people from various countries to visit and attract tourism. Tourism not only help to boost country revenue, but
also
portray a positive picture of the county and help the nation to take pride. Government failure to support these art forms would close or diminish these heritage sites and countries can lose a big chunk of revenue due to that.
For example
, if government would not spend money on the maintenance of Taj Mahal or Colosseum, people of twenty
first
century would not witness these sites.
