More and more people are opting for readymade ford intead of freshly home cooked food. Discuss advantageous and disadvantages?
Many people prefer to eat in the restaurant and fast
food
joint than to prepare their meals at home
. This
is becoming rampant in our society because people are busy and have less time for cooking. In this
essay, I will discuss the merits and demerits of both.
To begin
with, people, especially the working class leaves their various homes early and obviously no time to make breakfast. Also
, many jobs are demanding and most workers get exhausted before they get back to their abode, hence
they crave for ready made food
. For example
, I was given a gruelling task by my boss few months ago to find some invoices, apparently, I spent the whole day at work combing the nook and cranny of the office and was worn out. On my way home
, I just dashed into a fast food
restaurant and ordered for a French cuisine for dinner which I enjoyed so much because the meal was sumptuous. In addition
, some people believe that eating out is better because of the varieties which, if this
is done at home
could be cumbersome and they as well have value for their money. Another reason is affordability, for instance
,
most students patronize canteens in their schools because the foods are sold at affordable rates.
Despite all the aforementioned advantages the disadvantages are numerous. Accept space
,
Firstly
, eating junks from restaurants poses health challenges in the future. Nowadays, there is heightened awareness about eating healthily and most of the illnesses now are food
- borne.Therefore
, one should make a conscious effort to prepare good quality meal and consume more of fruits and vegetables to boost the immune system so that the body would be free from such
illnesses. Moreover
, when cooking at home
, we have control over the type and amounts of ingredients we use. For instance
, too much of spices are detrimental to health, whereas in most food
outlets, they are used in large quantities. Home
made food
tastes better because of the freshness of ingredients and quality, ingredients like salt, sugar and spices are reduced. Definitely, we all know too much salt is associated with high blood pressure so also
is vegetable oil high in cholesterol leads to obesity.
In conclusion, the demerits of eating out far outweighs its merits. People should endeavour to prepare their meals and dinner with their family rather than fast food
that sells junks which could lead to several health challenges in the future and many people have died in this
regard.Submitted by tmoradeyo7 on
