There is an increasing trend around the world to have a small family rather than a large family. What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a small family rather than a larger family?

In the modern era, the joint families are converted into nuclear families to a significant extent due to the fact that people are migrating from rural areas to urban areas in search of jobs and many other reasons.
This
trend has ample of pros and cons that I will discuss in the following paragraphs. To start with, what are the advantages of small families over the larger one?
First benefit
Suggestion
The first benefit
is the reduction in financial responsibility. In the former case, the number of members are less than the later;
thus
, the financial burden is reduced, even parents get more opportunities to think about the better education of their children as well as to improve their lifestyle.
Moreover
, nuclear families give command of life. It offers higher freedom and privacy than joint families.
This
is due the fact that some self-centred people cannot share their things with others that leads to conflicts and disturbances between the members which can be reduced in the families with smaller number of people.
In addition
to it, the personal relationship between the family members are much stronger that they share their life with each other and try to solve any kind of issues together.
On the other hand
, families with the lesser count of people showed some drawbacks as well.
First
Suggestion
The first
and the foremost limitation is the support. In joint families, grandparents are always present to help their children in difficult walks of life because they have more experience than other members and are able to take appropriate decisions. Apart from it, the cultural legacy is not easy to pass to
next generation
Suggestion
the next generation
next generations
because of less interaction between grandparents and grandchildren.
For example
, a recent survey conducted by the Oxford University illustrates in the present scenario, people mostly children feel more alienated as compared to the past and
this
is only due to the reason that most of the population prefers to live in small groups. To conclude, the trend of independent living is rising day by day, which is affiliated with plenty of advantages.
However
, the populace should keep in mind the disadvantages related to
this
approach.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.
