Advances in science and technology and other areas of society in the last 100 years have transformed the way we live as well as postponing the day we die. There is no better lime to be alive than now. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

The
last
century has no doubt seen tremendous advancement in the science and technology.
This
has redefined the way we live, in as much as it has improved standard of living
such
as medicine, travel, reduction of labour and communication, there are
also
drawbacks to science and technology where people have become more materialistic, drug abuse and arm robbery. Science and technology have opened up the field of medicine, brought about new innovations that have made living pleasurably, the disease is easily cured or properly managed.

Also, people
can now travel far and wide with ease and in good and record time. More so, communications have become more effective, employers can manage their businesses from the comfort of their home with a click of a button. More so, people don't need to toil to make earns meet, there are a variety of ways to earn income now without necessarily going out of one's comfort zone.
On the other hand
, technological advancements have some drawback, as today we are battling with environmental pollution from human activities,
also
we have social vices
such
as drug abuse, arm robbery, gang violence amongst others that are causing harm to people. The early years saw life in a different form, people looked after each other, there was more colonialism, and
thus
less crime, food was eaten fresh with less contamination as it is today. In summary, living in these times is by far better that what our parents and grandparents experienced, but
this
doesn't cast Shadow of the fact that the future may be the best times to live.
