In recent years, the family structure has changed, as well as family roles. What are the changes occurring? Do you think these changes are positive or negative?

Over several decades, it is noticeable that there are myriad changes in family structure along with family roles. Those changes are positively innovative, and all about gender equality and family reformations.
This
essay will illustrate how gender discrimination has been abolished as well as family roles, and the differences in family arrangement, compared to the past. Contrary to almost all cultures in the past where patriarchal systems flourished,
however
, nowadays women have a legal human right to men in society. There is no doubt that a female can be a breadwinner who manages everything in a family
such
as financial problems.
Therefore
, family roles have been changed due to the fact that women tend to be financially independent and pursuing their career paths successfully.
This
explains why when in marriage, the number of men who stay at home, do household chores, and take care of their children for their wives drastically increases. According to a statistic on the Harvard Kennedy School website, women all around the world are getting ahead in their families because of financial autonomy, and advancements in gender equality.
On the other hand
, the family system is remarkably different from the one in the past.
Instead
of three or more generations living under the same roof, the popularity of nuclear families grows as well as that of stepfamilies and single-parent families. Based on worldwide researchers, the rate of divorce is higher than ever, because some couples realize that they aren’t in love with their partners anymore.
This
is why single-parent families and stepfamilies are common now. Another reason could be due to cohabiting couples, they have children, but they break up or do not get married.
However
, these family formations are not as negative as their reasons: parents who achieve their freedom and live their own lifestyle, the children tend to live without any burdens in their parents’ relationships. From all mentioned examples, changes in family structure or even family roles lead to a positive impact on
this
society: women have an ability to live with their freedom and dreams; nobody is being forced in any relationship they don’t desire. Eventually, family structures will adapt to accommodate an ever-growing society.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
