Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films. Why could this be? Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?

In recent years, movies have gradually become an important part of people's lives. It is true that foreign films are more popular than local movies in some countries and
this
can be explained for several reasons. So the
government
should
support
the local film industry more. There are various reasons why people prefer imported movies.
Firstly
, some movies present local culture and features, and people prefer to see these new things rather than things around them.
For instance
, Chinese Kung Fu films are considerably famous all over the world. The
second
reason is that film industries in some countries are more developed than the others. Hollywood is a good example of
this
: there are an amount of famous actors, directors and other professional technicians in
this
area.
That is
why American movies
such
as Transformers and Avatar have better special effects and
more magnificent

most magnificent
scenes. In terms of financial
support
to local film industries, there is no doubt that the
government
should give more.
Firstly
, an increase in job positions can be expected followed by a rise in
the number

of financial
support
.
Next
, some movies can be used as a country's business card to the world; and
then
will attract substantial tourists to
this
country; and
finally
bring far greater returns than investment to the
government
.
For example
, millions of people come to New Zealand because of the popularity of Lord of The Rings, which is partly funded by the
government
. In summary, governments should
support
more to local movie industries to allow them to produce better works to compete with foreign films that dominate the local market currently.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
