Children nowadays spend a great deal of time watching television. However, television cannot replace the book as a learning tool, which is why children are less well‐educated today. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

Currently, teenagers watch television more than reading books, which leads to their lower educational levels. To a certain extent, I agree that televisions can play a great role by increasing world view of children.
However
, I
also
believe that books are very crucial learning tools. We are living in an era in which technology continues to develop and nearly every family owns a TV. Young generation is particularly interested in watching cartoons, entertaining shows.
Firstly
, spending a lot of time in front of screen can lead to visual disorders.
Secondly
, televisions can make children addicted and distracted from schoolwork.
For example
, when parents try to forbid their children from watching their
favorite
something regarded with special favor or liking
favourite
cartoons,
this
can result in the exact opposite, making children even more interested in TV.
As a result
of many distractions, new generations are
less well
Suggestion
less good
-educated than prior generations. Books have always been main learning tools for people of all ages for many reasons.
Firstly
, they are
aimed
Suggestion
aiming
for learning, focus on a particular subject, in case of confusion can be read over and over. Unlike watching television, students are fully concentrated while studying from textbooks which benefits them in many aspects of life.
Secondly
, there are not any distractions like advertisements.
For example
, a student watching an educational show might lose focus
as a result
of irrelevant videos.
Finally
, students can choose specific times in a day for studying.
For example
, one student might be
productive
Suggestion
produced
at nights, another in the mornings. For
this
reason, whenever a person feels like adjusting study periods books are always available for them.
However
, TV programs are planned beforehand, and cannot be changed. Many people hold a viewpoint that children nowadays spend more time in front of screens and are less educated. I would like to assert that television is worthwhile for some special educational programs.
However
, it is not a viable alternative for books at all.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
