Supermarkets should only sell food produced from within their own country rather than imports from overseas. What are your opinions on this?

Supermarkets sell a wide range of cuisine products in the present day. They have both national and international imported foodstuff, available for all kinds of cultures and cuisine types. I personally believe that it is a blessing to have a variety to choose from
instead
of limiting the options to
country
-based
food
range. Living in Canada, where multiculturalism is one of the key factors of the economy, options in the
food
aisle is essential. There are people, living here from all around the world and they have their own cooking needs.
Similarly
, importing
food
products from their own
country
to their nearby grocery store, it is a way for them to be connected to their authentic cooking.
For Instance
, being an Indian, living in Canada I felt in the beginning, I would have never cooked Indian
food
if there were no spices or goods imported from my own
country
. It would have limited people like me to just Canadian based cuisine choices or the snack that are available on national grounds. Another reason for me to favour bringing in outside the
country
goods is that, it gave me a chance, sitting in one
country
to try and taste a variety of cuisines and diverse nation-based
food
items. Before coming to Canada, I had only tasted Indian
food but
Accept comma addition
food, but
when I came here, I got an opportunity to try other kinds of
food
as well.
Moreover
, I have
also
learnt how to cook most of the dishes other than Indian. Not to forget, it was only possible through the imported
food
products available in the market. I can buy Chinese
food
ingredients and cook at home
instead
of going out. It made cooking experience, versatile for most of the people. In the nutshell, I would like to mention that it is more of an advantage to have various
food
products imported to own
country
than just domestic
food
because of the above written reasons. It does not limit an individual to a certain kind of source of survival and provides variation for the taste.
