Some people say that art subjects such as painting or drawing should not be made compulsory for high school students. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It’s argued that whether high school students should have to learn
art
-related subjects. In my opinion, I think that learning about
craft
will certainly benefit on the part of students, there is a need to make a painting or drawing classes be part of the core syllabus. Some people who believe that it’s not mandatory to study
art
classes contend that studying
craft
is a waste of valuable time. Teenagers are unwilling to participate in the
art
classes and not all of them having
art
classes and not all of them have a good artistic ability and are not to make a living as the painter in the future. For
this
reason, some students think that it’s better to focus on a traditional academic subject,
such
as math and English, or studying in contemporary fields,
such
as communication and media studies, which are more likely to help them in the future.
However
, some people think that high school should not exclude
art
subjects, after all, education is not only to prepare students for career success. Everyone has a practical side and a creative side. Even though a student intend to be an accountant, he might be interested in the field of
craft
and enjoys more artistic pastimes
such
as painting, drawing, acting, singing, or dancing. At the same time, Arts can help people to encourage self-expression and to build students’ confidence.
