Some people think that space exploration is a waste of resources while others think that it is essential for mankind to continue to explore the universe in which we live Discuss both sides and give your opinion

In
last century
Suggestion
the last century
, billions of dollars have been sent on exploring the universe.
Although
many concur
this
activity as useful, I believe those resources should be spent on people's education and health. In
this
essay, I will examine both the views and justify why the
money
should better spend in Earth's life. Those who advocate
this
space research argue that the future of humankind, perhaps depends on
such
discovery. If we found on earth-like planet,
for instance
, we could mine its resources or even colonize and potentially migrate over there, once our own planet becomes uninhabitable. Indeed, projects are already underway investigating the viability of life on Mars, among other places.
Thus
, to these supporters, the government's
money
is well-spent on exploring outer space as it could ultimately save us. Others,
however
, myself included, do not support
this
ongoing exploration. Apparently, in the
last
few decades, many countries spent myriad of dollars sending astronauts, rover, satellites, and rockets out into the galaxy.
For example
, the USA has spent over $100 billion on these activities and got negligible results.
Instead
, if
this
money
had been spent on improving literacy and sanitation in the
third
world, or on researching vaccines and treatments for deadly diseases, our lives would be much better than they currently are. With that being said, governments should stop spending
money
on
this
fruitless pursuit. In conclusion, humanity's thirst for knowledge is unquenchable. It is time, for governments to stop these research and to start thinking about human lives on Earth before it is too late.
