In many countries, international tourism has become an important source of income. However, it also has negative effects. Do the benefits of international tourism outweigh the disadvantages?

In
this
ever-advanced modern world, with the breakthrough of the technological enhancement, travelling abroad becomes much easier than the old days. Under
this
phenomenon, international
tourism
has attached a paramount importance to the income source of many countries.
However
,
although
it brings a wide array of benefits to the
country
, some appraisers argue that indeed the tourists have brought detrimental effects. In the justification of
this
notion, I believe that the benefits brought by international
tourism
far outweigh the drawbacks. To embark on, the
tourism
industry has played a vital role in the economic development, which has given a great amount of tax to the
government
and provided many job opportunities to the society. While the
tourism
companies have earned a lot of money from the
tourism
, they need to give a certain amount of tax to the
government
, which is an important source for establishing public infrastructures and providing welfare to the citizens.
Subsequently
, citizens can be beneficial for the society development.
Further
to that, as the
tourism
industry needs more workforces for holding the tours, more job opportunities will be provided,
such
as tour guards, receptionists at the sightseeing points. To a certain extent, the unemployment problem can be alleviated.
On the other hand
, international
tourism
may cause grave issues if there are lacking restrictions or law enforcements in the
country
. When the number of tourists is much larger than the capacity of the attraction, especially the natural sights, it will cause serious damage to the environment. To cite an example, some attractions like
country
parks have been damaged because of the overcrowded problems of visitors.
Moreover
, as there is a cultural difference between the international tourists and local citizens, some conflicts may happen with misunderstanding of the local culture.
For instance
, some people in Hong Kong or Taiwan dislikes the behaviours of China tourists because of their impolite actions and bad habits. These problems will be avoided only if the
government
launches comprehensive restrictions for enforcing the tourists to behave well. Every coin has two sides.
Although
international
tourism
has brought a lot of income to the
country
, it has still caused some problems or conflicts in the society.
However
, it is truly said, with a better control from the
government
to the situation, the merits of
tourism
outnumbered its demerits.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
