Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the less of particular species of plants and animals. Other say that there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion

It is irrefutable that environmental problems are always a heated topic. While some consider that the main issue of humans’ time is the gradual extinction of
species
of plants and animals, others argue that some important environmental problems are more and more important. In my perspective, I support the latter view. On the one hand, the
less
something that is lost
loss
of particular plants and
animals
Suggestion
animal
species
could lead to the adverse consequences on the food web and ecosystem.
First
of all, any fauna and flora would interact with each other and create a huge food web. Whenever a plant or animal would go extinct, other
species
are endangered due to the lack of food.
Furthermore
, the loss of
species
would contribute to ecological imbalance.
For instance
, the disappearance of coral reefs would lead to the loss of natural habitats of several aquatic
species
such
as fish, sponges and worms. What’s worse,
this
would result in a drastic increase in the number of tsunamis, which will threaten the coastal areas.
On the other hand
, though plants and
animals
Suggestion
animal
extinction is an alarming issue, there are some more pressing problems
such
as environmental pollution.
This
problem comes from the uncontrollable improvement of industries, in which people
continuously
seemingly without interruption
continually
expand land to build factories and enterprises.
As a result
, the natural habitat of wild
species
would be shrunk considerably. Worse still, the waste from factories would pollute the environment, which would directly contribute to the extinction of various
species
. In conclusion, while the loss of particular
species
could have a detrimental effect on life, I believe that environmental pollution should be a more urgent problem.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
