Music relives our soul and it touches our heart with its melody. It is a great stress buster after a tiring day at work. Many listen to music just for fun or as a hobby.
On the other hand
, some people believe that young children should be taught how to play an instrument at school. I believe that it is upon a child to decide his or her likes. I disagree with the statement in the question. Children should follow their dreams and the same goes with their hobbies and interests in a
subject
. They should not be forced to learn a
subject
they do not desire. Music is important for everyone;
hence
, it would be beneficial if it is made an optional where a kid decides to choose.
For instance
, in the majority of the ICSE schools in Maharashtra, youngsters get to choose between French, Marathi and Sanskrit as their
third
language in fifth grade. Children can even take up arts or cooking in their 10th grade. Some families cannot afford to buy and maintain musical equipment. If a school decides to make music compulsory for every student, the parents might not be able to enrol their kid.
For example
, a quality guitar would cost around ten thousand rupees. Coaching and maintenance would add up to that amount. Some people below the poverty line, earn around ten to fifteen thousand a month and cannot spend their earnings on an apparatus. To end
this
essay, I would suggest keeping the
subject
as a choice for the child and his family. Listening to music will not cost much for a person but learning a musical instrument is not easy for a middle-class family.

needs great passion and dedication.
