Some people believe that reading stories from a book is better than watching TV or playing computer games for children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Reading from a book is assumed to be superior for the children to watching TV or playing games on the screen. In this essay, I would like to elaborate furtherly on reasons that make I highly concur with this notion. On the first hand, letting children obtain knowledge from TV or computer games has bad aspects that outweigh good ones. For positive effects on children’s growth, due to the liveliness of motion graphics, it is less complicated for toddlers to figure out surroundings. Meanwhile, the proper interactions are required in games that contribute to their intelligence. In addition, children perhaps enhance senses by learning animal's sounds or hearing different instruments. Apart from the benefits, there are also some drawbacks. Firstly, bad effects on eyes and brain are noticeable. There was a controversy that an episode of Pokémon, a popular animated series in Japan, led several young viewers to have seizures. Besides, it is difficult to control what children see and play since there is plenty of inappropriate content like violent ones. Therefore, exposing children to screens has its negative side which should be pondered to. On the other hand, reading story books has potential that outweigh watching videos and playing games. That is more of a traditional way of learning which helps children to sharpen their brain. First, books currently not only convey lots of tech like sound effects but also vary in genres which means to bring more lively graphics and show all facets of life. Secondly, parents can interact with children while reading stories that strengthen the bond in family and may help children adapt caring traits in the future. Lastly, the vision problems due to reading books are not as severe as blue light exposure. In other words, learning from books has its merits without causing many downsides as activities on screen do. In conclusion, based on characteristics of each method, books exceed TV and computer games in applicipality for children.
