Some say that big sporting events, such as the Olympic Games are waste of money and resources. Do you agree or disagree

Big sporting activities like the Olympics Games and World Cup are being held very seldom, and people from different countries anticipate these events with mammoth excitement. Though it brings entertainment and numerous benefits, there are those who say that it is a waste of money,
time
and effort. In my opinion, the benefits in the economy and the
friendship
being built from
such
events justify the number of resources being poured on it. Some say that organizing these events requires a long
time
and facilities are difficult to arrange. The Olympics and the world cup are held every four years and a host country is being chosen eight years before the scheduled date, and from that
time
preparation begins. Just like the world cup in the year 2022, Qatar was chosen as a host as early as the year 2016, and since
then
preparation started and still going on up to now.
Furthermore
, organizing and gathering of equipment and materials require a lot of manpower and vehicles for transporting. I, addition, venues and facilities will be useless after the event.
However
, sports activities have a positive impact on the economy and
friendship
among nations. It contributes revenues not only to the host country but
also
to other countries. Some companies advertise and pay huge amount

adding revenues to the organizer, in return their product or company

Also
, in these events,
friendship
is built not only among players but
also
the organizers. People meet at the sports venue and interact with each other resulting in

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
