exported from Vietnam and Thailand on a monthly basis over a 4-year period, from 2012 to 2015. Overall, the
rice
from Vietnam was by far cheaper than that from Vietnam over the course of 4 years. There was a correlation between the figures for Vietnam and Thailand each year. In 2012, the price for Vietnamese and Thai
rice
was exactly 400 and just over 500
million
dollars per
ton
respectively. Both figures witnessed a fall in the
first
half
second
quarter of the year, hitting their lowest points in May, before gradually rising in June. The amount of money to buy each
ton
of
rice
from Vietnam remained the same, while the value of Thai
rice
increased by 50

dollars. During 2013, the figure for Vietnam fluctuated within a narrow range of around 25
million
dollars, whereas that of Thailand hit the lowest point of the whole 4 years at 400

exported in Vietnam stabilized at around 325
