A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

People do judge according to social status and material possessions. I believe there is no reason to dispute
this
hypothesis. Evidences of it are blantant all around us. Since the advent of the
internet
there has been a growing concern, among teenagers especially, about showing off some particular social status or belonging.
This
is exactly the proof of our present judging system: if it wasn't like that, people would not mind about sharing their precious object on a regular basis. More specifically, I believe there are two reasons why people feel
this
urgency nowadays.
First
, societies evolve with their times, everyone is the result of the era he forms himself. our modern days are characterized by interconnectivity everywhere, and teenagers, as a consequence, as found in the
internet
their preferred mean of communication. it is perhaps right through the
internet
that they feel more comfortable in trying to impress their peers; and as it is easier doing that sharing a photo of something considerably cool, they tend to do it, since it is valued by our judgement system.
Secondly
, the democratization brought by the
internet
has involved
also
exposure. even people not entilted to many belongings tend to show off trying to impress others, by posting continuously.
