Some people think that government is wasting money on the art and that this money could be spent elsewhere. To what extent do you agree with this view?

Some people underestimate the arts and claim that the government,
instead
of squandering money on
this
area, should allocate its budget to other sectors. Personally, I completely disagree with
this
viewpoint as the arts bring about both social and economic benefits for a country. With regards to social aspects, the arts, including all branches
such
as music, painting, sculpture and architecture, play an important role in shaping a country's cultural and spiritual values. Most artworks convey good ideas about love, compassion, conscience and empathy, thereby enriching good qualities of culture and promoting national identity.
Furthermore
, the arts
also
contribute actively to an all-round education for all citizens. If students,
besides
learning math and science, spend their time studying arts courses and contemplating
art
exhibitions, their creativity will be nurtured.
Hence
, the arts have many clear positive social impacts - culturally and educationally. Even more practically, the arts have actually been a decent source of revenue for many countries. Music, which is considered part of the arts, is a multi-billion dollar industry in the US and Korea. Performing arts and painting are
also
profitable if artists can create high-quality products. Another hidden financial benefit is that the arts help to attract tourists and boost the economy, as countries with rich cultures of arts typically gain more reputation in tourism. Two notable examples are Italy, with its famous
art
masterpieces dating back to the Renaissance, and France, with a variety of magnificent architecture; These two countries have generated significant annual profits from millions of tourists fascinated by their
art
cultures. For the aforementioned reason , I firmly believe that investing in
