opularity of sports activities is ever increasing. While some people believe it is a source of entertainment others argue that it plays a vital role in the community. I completely disagree with the former argument and will discuss both views in the following paragraphs.
To begin
with, Those who believe sports is a recreational activity argue that no significant goal is achieved by playing games as it is only a source of entertainment.
This
is because nobody obtains any academic credits or financial gains and a huge sum of money is needed to play some sports.
For instance
, Golf, a luxurious activity, requires a lot of expensive resources which cannot be afforded by all members of a community. If these activities remain expensive, a large portion of people will be deprived of accessing them and
this
will become leisure pastime of riches only.
However
, I would argue that games play a vital role in society building.
This
is because playing game aids in building the character of an individual by instilling many moral values like cooperation, hard work, mental toughness and team player which help throughout the lifetime.
For example
, many successful sports personalities have
also
excelled in other professions like politics, social activists, police forces etc. If every person practices sports regularly,
then
this
will definitely result in a progressive nation. In conclusion, due to its numerous benefits to an individual as well as community, I believe that sports are a crucial part of human life. It should not be limited to a leisure pastime only but be played by people of all ages.
