Write about the following topic: Memorising facts is the most important way to succeed in education. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Being well-educated is one of the most relevant tools for healthy development. It begins early in life and it will be a great commitment for children and parents for more than ten years at least. For
such
importance, some people believe that memorising as many facts as possible is the key to achieve success in education, but I tend to disagree with
this
opinion. The
first
reason is that knowledge is made of comprehension and not only information. Teaching how to look to facts critically is more important than just acknowledging them.
For instance
, graphs are full of data and information but knowing how and by whom the research was made, that provided that graph, can answer even more questions and generate a deeper analysis. Another point is that information and facts can become outdated and change through time. Science is usually limited by its capacity of research, resources and available methods.
For example
, for a long period of time, the Earth being the centre of the Universe was once considered a fact. Nowadays, it has been enlighted that
this
is not true.
Lastly
, facts can vary depending on the source or the benefited group by it. History is usually a target since it
also
represents a culture and can produce effects on the future.
For example
, during elections, reputations and facts can be distorted and mischief opinions in order to influence people's votes.
Therefore
, even though there are no lies,
nevertheless
there are omissions or manipulation of memories. To sum up, memorising is not a reliable method to succeed in education while being capable of making research, checking facts and producing its own opinion actually is.
