Dear Sir or Madam I am writing
this
letter to express my dissatisfaction with a
laptop
that I bought recently at your
store
, in the Mall of Toronto. I have been a regular customer for almost 10 years and I never had problems with any item from your company, except for
this
one. I was financially and professionally damaged since the

a work purpose and I have not been able to accomplish my tasks due to
this
situation. The equipment acquired was a Samsung LT-004 black
laptop
. Once I got home, I immediately tested all the functions of the
laptop
to check if everything was working properly. The camera and microphone were not working, and every time I try to turn on the camera the screen goes black. Thereby, I missed all of my appointments and for that reason, I did not receive my weekly payment. After I saw those problems with my new gadget, I promptly called the
store
and the manager told me that I should return to the
store
to make a change.
However
, the
store
is far from my home and that day, the snow was heavy and I was not able to get there.
Therefore
, I am writing
this
letter to propose an amicable way out of
this
situation. I am willing to go to the mail and send the
laptop
back to the
store
or any other address
that is
recommended.
Then
, I wish to have a coupon or a cashback to buy a new one in a maximum of 3 days. If
this
is a good deal for the company, I would like to receive the address in my e-mail [email protected] or in my number (+55)21965734007 by message. I hope we can solve
this
situation amicably. I am looking forward to your answer. Yours, faithfully Beatriz Inacio

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
