ast has always been a bone of contention. While there is one segment of people who are of the opinion that acquiring the knowledge of what has already happened offers no incentive today, the other segment believes that one should always be aware of one's own past. In

such
contrasting opinions and how studying past will keep you in good stead. History has always been important to mankind. Studying it has always rewarded us with information about our culture. Furthermore

On the contrary
, some people are of the opinion that acquiring historical knowledge will not help us as there will not be any potential application of it in most of our professions. They believe that it is not a technical aspect which is required for enhancing our skill-pool which helps us professionally. Some of them quote that not knowing what happened during the freedom struggle of a country will not hamper your livelihood or lifestyle if you are a driver or a sportsperson. In my personal view, it is always important that we stay connected to our roots and know about our culture and history. It might not have many financial implications, but it will serve us with a lot of self-belief and wisdom which we require to survive in today's world. In conclusion, while there are opposing views on whether studying history is beneficial or not, it is very important to be knowledgeable of our past.
