Sport is becoming a business. More and more companies are getting involved in sporting events. Do you think that it is a positive or negative development?

In contemporary society,
sports
marketing is gaining grounds the world over. Several large organisations
use
various
sports
events to advertise their products but according to a section of people, it can cause detrimental effects on
sports
. In my opinion, I believe that the
investment
from companies in
sports
is a double edge sword, in which the advantages and disadvantages are equal. On the one hand, there are various benefits to invest in
sports
.
Firstly
, the more
investment
in sporting events, the higher income the
players
can receive.
Therefore
, a higher salary for
players
can promote them to be more incentive in a
competition
that will provide better
competition
quality than ever.
Furthermore
, the large
investment
form companies can
also
improve the justice of a
sports
competition
. The World Cup,
for instance
, has been invested a large amount of capital in the construction of the judging system.
As a result
, there are a lot of advanced technologies have been used in
competition
,
such
as VAR, which can provide more detail for the judge when a goal has happened. Without financial support from private institutions,
such
advanced technology can never be put into
use
.
On the other hand
, the drawbacks of a corporation involving the sporting event are
also
obvious. In order to get the bonus of
sports
events, some
players
,
for instance
, may
use
some stimulant to improve their performance, which is unprincipled and bad for the development of the
sports
industry.
Moreover
, some merchants may
use
the money to control the result of competitions for wining in gamble, that will consume the trust of the public. It will impose a negative effect on a sporting event. Having analysed to topic carefully, I am of the opinion that the pros and cons of
sports
marketing are equilibrium. In order to maximise the benefits of sporting
investment
, we should pay more attention to supervising
players
and markets.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
