education plays a vital role in anyone's career. Nowadays, a large
number
of graduate are taking admission for their study at
University
compared to previous times and some people argue that Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.
However
, I oppose
this
viewpoint. In the following essay, I will be explaining my views on the same.
Firstly
, it is not practical for any educational institution to admit an equal
number
of male and female students. The subjects that are preferred by the male are generally different from the female.
For example
, most of the female
student
prefers fashion designing and due to
this
reason
number
of women taking admission to
this
course will be significantly higher than men.
On the other hand
, the male
student
prefers to opt for mechanical engineering in comparison to a female
student
. In
such
a scenario asking the institution to admit equal numbers of male and female students would be foolish. If universities force impractical criteria of admitting an equal
number
of male and female
then
universities would run out of business because no one course will be the
number
inequality. Apart from the practical concerns expressed above, I
also
believe that it would be unfair to base admission to
University
courses on gender. Criteria for selecting
student
should be on the basis of their merit and not because of their gender. In conclusion,
University
education is important for both male and female but admitting them in equal proportion is out of question practically as well as socially.
