The table illustrates the proportion of expense on three different kinds of consumer goods in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002. Overall, all
countries
spent most on food, drinks, and tobacco in the given period, which was about three times higher than the remaining goods. The least amount of money spent was on leisure and education in all five
countries
. In terms of food, drinks, and tobacco,
people
in Turkey spent the most at 32.14% on
this
as opposed to Swedish
people
at 15.77%, who paid out the least. The expense of Ireland in
this
category was
also
high ( 28.19% ) while the
people
in Italy and Spain consumed 18.80% and 16.36% respectively.
On the other hand
, neither of the
countries
spent much on leisure and education, which was just under 5%. Turkish
people
contributed about 4.35 % to
this
item which is double that in Spain ( 1.98%). Regarding clothing and footwear, the expense of all
countries
on
this
item ranged between 5.4% in Sweden and 9% in Italy. The average outgo of remaining
countries
on
this
consumer good was around 6% in 2002.
