In many countries, the number of animals and plants is declining. Why do you think this is happening? How can this issue be solved?

Currently, the loss witnessed in variety and number in both
plants
and animals is indeed disheartening for the entire world. There are several manmade factors responsible for
this
situation.
However
, appropriate measures can certainly help to tackle
this
problem.
To begin
with, there are three major reasons that are accountable for loss in a variety of
plants
and animals.
For instance
, deforestation is the biggest culprit, as trees and
plants
are cut down for development in infrastructure, urbanization, industrial estates and power
plants
which resulted in the extinction of a diversity of vegetation.
Consequently
, creatures that rely on
plants
die out of starvation and lack of shelter.
Moreover
, globalization has given birth to immense industrial and economic growth causing huge pollution and global warming. Many animal and plant
species
could not withstand the weather changes,
thus
vanished.
Finally
, the population is one of the major factors for
this
phenomenon.
In other words
, to fulfil the demands of mushrooming population fertile lands are utilized to grow cash crops and the land of the wildlife is snatched in the process leading to havoc.
However
, the situation can be improved by taking some steps.
Firstly
, by creating sanctuaries many
species
of
plants
and animals can be protected. To explain, endangered
plants
and creatures can be raised and saved in human restricted areas to prevent them from extinction. In India,
for example
, many wildlife sanctuaries proved helpful to raise the number of Bengal tigers which was on the verge of extinction.
Secondly
, implementing strict legislation favouring the protection of
such
species
can be helpful in saving their variety and improving their number. To illustrate, laws against cutting trees and clearing land must be enforced in order to protect the environment.
Furthermore
, awareness among humans is required to bring positive changes to the scenario. In the light of all ,facts one can conclude that the most intelligent creation of nature is the most dangerous enemy of
species
that co-exist with him and unless he awakens enlightens, it is indeed impossible to envisage a brighter future of
this
planet.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
