The movement of people from agriculture areas to big cites has caused many problems at both places. What are the reasons for this problem and how can it be solved.

Globalisation and urbanization have led to the
development
of big
cities
and have encouraged
people
to move to
cities
to seek a better standard of living.
However
,
this
migration
has caused a population explosion and a shortage of manpower in the farming industry in villages. In
this
essay, I will discuss the impact of movement on rural and urban
areas
and suggest some possible solutions. There are several reasons why
people
move to metropolitan
areas
. One of the major reasons for
migration
from rural
areas
is infrastructure and
development
such
as better education, health care, sanitation, housing, business opportunities, transportation, better recreational
facilities
, ample job opportunities and good social life attract which result in overpopulation in urban
areas
.
Thus
, overcrowding in urban centres leads to problems
such
as lack of housing
facilities
, congestion in small
areas
,
development
of slums, inadequate sewage facility and so on. To exemplify, the Dharavi slum in India is known for
people
living in small
areas
with poor sanitation, inadequate water and sewage
facilities
.
On the other hand
,
migration
affects agricultural activities in rural
areas
. Rural
people
are involved in occupations like farming and when they move to
cities
for jobs there are fewer
people
to work on farms and
hence
less the agriculture yields.
However
, several steps to overcome these problems are to decrease the
development
gap between the rural and urban by providing more opportunities in villages. Government can minimize
migration
to big
cities
by providing educational and medical services
such
as establishing a hospital in a central area between villages, establishing universities, better transport
facilities
and sub-government departments like a mini-city in the centre of the countryside. In conclusion, the rate of
migration
can be controlled by bringing the
development
in rural
areas
remote and rural
areas
should be carried out with strategic implementations and missions keeping in mind the quality of life in both place
