Dear Sir, I am writing to bring to your notice that
last
month I had opted for a course on basic German as part of the institute’s mandatory requirement to learn a foreign language.
Nonetheless
, now I would like to drop that subject and
instead
opt for learning French.
To begin
with, I had opted for German
this
semester mainly due to the good reviews of the faculty teaching it.
Furthermore
, because of my inclination to migrate to Germany, I was highly motivated to get started with learning basic German.
However
, to my utter disappointment, the teacher allocated was someone else, and I am now finding it extremely difficult to follow him mainly due to his poor communication skills.
Moreover
, he had remained absent for the
first
3 classes without giving us any notice which I felt was unprofessional on his part.
Therefore
, I would like to request you now to allow me to opt-out of
this
subject, and
instead
let me choose French as my language course. Another reason for switching to learning French is because of the scholarship that I have now received to pursue my masters in Paris. I thank you for your consideration and await your prompt response. Do let me know the exact formalities that I have to complete in order to make
this
switch. Yours faithfully, Abhinav

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
