Some people think that schools should reward students who show the best academic results, while others believe that it is more important to reward students who show improvements. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is true that some commentators argue that
schools
should
reward
students
who have the best academic
results
, while others think that it is more necessary to
reward
pupils who try to improve their marks. While I agree that
schools
should praise those who have the best academic
results
, I believe that
students
who make improvements in their studies should be received recognition for their capabilities. On the one hand, There are a number of reasons why
schools
should praise
students
who have the best academic
results
.
Firstly
,
this
will create a competitive environment when teachers only praise those who are achieving the best academic
results
.
As a result
, other
students
will be motivated to try their best to get better marks.
Secondly
,
students
who achieve the best academic
results
deserve to receive rewards, as they spend effort and time studying to prepare for examinations.
For example
,
instead
of hanging out with their friends or playing video games, they take all the tests for preparation for their examination.
On the other hand
, it is more necessary for
schools
to
reward
pupils who improve their academic
results
. The
first
aspect is that
this
is the best way for teachers to encourage school boys and school girls to keep on trying hard for their studies. So,
students
will be motivated to continue their studies. Another reason is that the fierce competition in class has caused many health problems to
students
, including anxiety, depression and insomnia. By praising all
students
who try their best to study well, teachers may contribute to mitigating these consequences. In conclusion, it seems to me that
schools
should give an equal chance for each child to be received a
reward
.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
