People who read for pleasure in their free time have a better imagination than those who prefer to watch TV. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Reading in leisure time is said to boost creativity. While many people are of
this
opinion, others believe watching television gives you an edge in thinking. In my opinion, reading books gives advances your imagination more than watching shows and movies. There are two primary points that I will be highlighting in the upcoming paragraphs.
Although
watching TV in your free time contributes to your thought process, it cannot compare to the pleasure of going through a book.
Moreover
, when you watch movies, you are entertaining the imagination of someone else's thoughts and not your own, whereas, when you take up a novel you are allowing yourself to be deeply immersed in your own creativity.
For example
, many people who have read harry potter was deeply disappointed that it failed to capture the true essence of the writer. It is because they had applied their own thinking to the story. Going through stories of different genres allows your mind to indulge in different thoughts.
Furthermore
, newspapers and articles keep your vocabulary engaged as they often have new words in their section.
For instance
, when you read a newspaper article, you are bound to learn and expand your knowledge when compared to a television series. If you are focused on learning
then
picking up a book is the right way to go about it. By way of conclusion, I reaffirm my position that one can boost their creativity by reading rather than watching television as the former let your brain wander to unchartered territories.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
