Some people think that public health is the responsibility of the government while others think that people should be responsible for their own health. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Individual
health
is a very important asset for mankind. Some people may argue that the government is responsible for the
health
of its citizens and some people may argue that everyone is in control of their
health
. The
role
the government plays is that they are responsible for creating the infrastructure required for recreational purposes. The ministry must
also
limit the availability of junk food outlets, and ban supermarkets and other shopping outlets from selling highly caffeinated soft drinks.
In addition
, they need to invest more funds in creating reliable public transport systems, which will make it easier for the public to travel to and from work.
Furthermore
, heavier taxes can be imposed on cars, scooters, and hoverboards, which would curtail the use of
such
medians for transport, thereby resulting in crowds having to walk to their nearest bus or rail terminals.
Also
, the encouraging of various marathons can help get crowds interested in participation, and
also
spike up the population's interest in getting healthy. From an individualist point of view, our
health
is our responsibility, as we need to take care of it. An exterior look into the benefits of exertions is that it keeps the body fit.
However
, a deeper look reveals how exercising can strengthen your bone and muscles, it helps improve your ability to do daily activities, increase your chances of living longer, and many other benefits. It is
also
known that physical exertions affect us mentally as well. Being fit is entwined with our self-worth, and how we see ourselves. We tend to be happier, and more self-confident. Taking part in sporting activities,
such
as football, basketball
also
helps us to build character because, as we are part of a team, every individual brings certain qualities to the table.
Therefore
, it is the responsibility of the group to play on each other's strengths and weaknesses.
This
works as a team-building exercise.
For example
, many football teams during the break between seasons travel to other countries and play against local teams. During these games, the managers will mostly mix the older players with the younger players when they set their team out, so that both sets of players get the feel of what their colleague is about, and thereby adapting their game
accordingly
.
Lastly
, we need to note that the administration’s
role
in the
health
of its citizens, will take time to implement, as there is a lot of red tapes to cut through.
On the other hand
, a person’s
role
is more straightforward and only requires our will to get the ball rolling. In conclusion, I feel it both the government and persons play a pivotal
role
in the overall
health
of the crowds,
however
, both parties' involvement is of varying degrees.
