It occurs through the spread of pathogens from other part of the body or directly through trauma or surgical instrumentation, which may lead to septic shock. signs and symptoms to look out for are - Systemic chills - High grade fever of 38 degrees and above - Fatigue - Hypotension Actions to be taken - I'll resuscitate the patient if he or she is in shock. - I will monitor the vital signs strictly. - I will call for help - Inform my charge

. - I will collect blood sample for blood culture investigation. - I will give prescribed medication
such
as antibiotics and iv fluids. - I will assist the doctor to perform lumber puncture in a sterile environment if there is suspicion of meningitis. - I must record and documents all procedures carried out for continuity of
