Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. Do you agree or disagree? *Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.*

For some time there has been a common discussion in society regarding those
products
with excess sugar content, some people believe that if governments support new regulations and
increase
the price of those
products
, the
health
issues related to the topic will diminish. Others claim that the
increase
in prices will only lead to the anger of the population but will not reduce the problem. In
this
essay, we will focus on why the
increase
in prices is not a viable solution for
this
issue.
First
and foremost, there has been social research proving that even if the cost of
food
with excess calories goes up due to the implementation of special taxes, people will keep buying them. Drawing from my personal experience, as a Mexican citizen I have witnessed a notorious
increase
in the charges of candy, sugary drinks, and junk
food
, everything
as a result
of a new law implemented to reduce the level of obesity and diabetes in the country. Notwithstanding, society did not stop purchasing these
products
, they were upset with the new regulation. Some claimed (me included) that,
instead
of the extreme measures, the best strategy was to create programs to promote exercise and a balanced diet. Another important factor to consider is that, while
food
products
with excess refined sugars are extremely dangerous to public
health
, there are other factors to consider regarding obesity, weight gain, high blood pressure, and liver diseases. One of them is the lack of movement that threatens the entire world population, especially in countries where the work schedule demands to be in front of a computer for hours.
Furthermore
, there have been scientific findings demonstrating that modern kids have less physical activity n in previous years. All things considered, I strongly support the idea that increasing the prices of sugary
products
is not the ultimate solution to reduce the
health
problems that place society at risk,
instead
, new programs must be created to galvanize participation in recreational and sports activities. Accompanied with a formal and complete education in how to eat property without sacrificing candy or sugar. At the end of the day, as plenty of nutritionists have mentioned in the past, a good diet is not the one forbidding yourself from delicious
food
with carbohydrates but, one that allows you to eat what you want without putting your
health
condition at risk.
