Young people these days tend to be less polite and respectful than in the past. What do you think are the reasons for that? What can be done to solve this issue?

Some of the teenagers of
this
generation are lacking some basic good
manners
and are being much arrogant and disrespectful with the
elders
in their family &
society
as well as with other people they interact. In
this
essay, I will delve into some of the reasons for
this
changed behaviour and will
also
suggest some ideas to solve
this
problem. To being with, with an increased sense of responsibility as well as due to cut-throat competition in the
society
most of the
parents
are being occupied with their professionals for longer hours and are spending less
time
with their
children
. Due to their busy schedules, they are making their
children
stay in day-care centres until they return from their offices. They hardly spend some
time
with their
children
.
Also
, in the little
time
, they spend with their
children
, they usually enquire about the things taught in school, help them with their homework . So, they hardly have
time
to monitor their
children
behaviour and teach them good
manners
.
Secondly
, the
children
of
this
decade mostly spend
time
playing or watching films on their electronic devices and are usually attracted to action movies and games.
This
has some impact on their brains and they usually turn arrogant.
Moreover
, spending more
time
indoors with gadgets make them less interactive with the other members of
society
and they hardly learn any good habits.
Parents
should make sure to spend some good
time
with
children
whenever they can and should keep a close eye on their behaviours. They should teach them the value of
elders
and the importance of being respectful to others. Unless they teach them, it is difficult for them to cultivate good
manners
. Special classes should be held in schools to teach youth all of these and mould them appropriately.
Secondly
,
parents
should impose some restrictions on their kids on the usage of mobile phones & tablets. They should keep a close watch on what programmes they watch and the influence those make on them. Certain
time
each day must be allocated to play with other friends, reading good books & interacting with other
elders
in the
society
. All these small changes help them to learn many useful things that are not usually learnt by reading their subject related books . It is very important for the
parents
& teachers to focus on teaching good
manners
to their students as they are future citizens. Spending adequate
time
with them and encouraging them to read good books & making them interact with other
elders
of the family and community will bring a noticeable change in the behaviours of the
children
and help them to become better individuals in the longer run.
