Some people say history is one the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like science and technology are more important than history. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

It is often argued about which subject is the most important to be taught in schools. Whilst the majority favour classes
such
as
science
and
technology
, others believe subjects like
history
also
have importance.
However
, both subjects do have their pros and cons which we shall discuss in
further
detail during
this
essay.
First
and foremost, let us look at the importance of a subject
such
as
history
Change the article
a history
show examples
. Simply put, it is important to know about our past.
This
subject dwells on topics
such
as the great empires of the years gone by and how they came about.
However
, there are sections of students who are interested in the earlier civilizations and
thus
follow
this
education course.
Furthermore
, the lessons we learn from past existences help us to avoid the situations that they suffered. If
history
dwells on the past,
science
and
technology
ponder on the future and its endless possibilities.
Science
helps to understand the various diseases, and how to fight against them. The current pandemic is an example of
this
.
Technology
has
also
made huge strides over the
last
decade, making our lives much easier and at the same time increasing our quality of life.
Technology
has allowed us to make so many advancements in areas
such
as space travel and has
also
helped us to understand the mystery of our oceans. In conclusion, whilst I feel both subjects have a role to play in a student's curriculum, I agree with the premise of
science
and
technology
being more important than
history
. The
technology
applications and the various avenues that
science
opens is very important for the progress of civilization.
