Dear Zyan, Thank you for sending me a letter after
such
a long time and I'll be happy to give some recommendations in your pursuit of finding a
room
for rent near the university. Let me tell you about my experience when I was studying for the masters. I had a
room
on rent for the
last
3 semesters and it was quite close to the library & a coffee shop where I spent most of my time.
Initially
, I was quite struggling to find a residence to live in due to the fact that my previous house owner had me evicted for the things that I do not do. One day, my housemate brought a pet into the property without the permission of the owner and, you know how much I love pets, after some time they found about
this
situation where he put all the blame on me and I was evicted by the owner because of
this
incident. But, don't worry I found another
room
at my friend's apartment and I stayed there during my studies. It might be useful for you to start looking for a place on the internet. There are lots of websites and applications from where you can choose which
room
suits you the most. Some of them are Kijiji, Facebook, etc. Let me suggest to you that the best way to find a suitable place is to search on Facebook,
for instance
, many people post their queries with pictures of rooms regarding finding a roommate, to find a tenant. But beware of having a rental contract, do not sign anything until you have read and understood about it thoroughly. There are some landlords who had their contracts been made already with the variance of cost of property and can demand that money in form of rent if you had signed the contract. I hope these suggestions will prove to be of some assistance in your pursuit. I'll be waiting for your reply. Warm regards, Your Friend ABC

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
