Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

The rate of crimes which are committed by juvenile delinquents is reportedly increasing in several nations. The root cause for this is the lack of parent's knowledge about educating children yet it can be tackled by the government to instruct parents on how to bring up children in a right way.

Since my childhood, I have been taught to enjoy work and play in equanimity. Born and raised in Pune, I have grown up amidst the hilly regions. Me and my friends used to go on small treks during school vacations, creating playful moments and memories for life. Gradually, trekking and rock climbing became one of my favourite leisure activities. I thoroughly enjoy adventure sports; recently during my last business trip to Dubai, I did sky-diving with my office colleagues and our video received a million views on Instagram.
