Describe a person you are very close to You shouls say: - who this person is - when you met them - where you met them and say what its about them that you like so much.

I want to tell you about my friend Lena. She is a professional runner and sometimes we run together for training or in competitions. I met Lena 6 years ago when we were running in the park. I found her attractive and decided to get acquainted with her. Since that time we have been keeping in touch. But, I wouldn't really call us"close" friends because she is married and has two little children, it's better to say that I'm a friend of her family. Sometimes I am invited to her or her husband birthdays. It's funny to recall that when we were running the

time it was so difficult for me to run as fast as she ran, despite that I'm quite a good runner. So, I started to suspect that she is a professional runner. I asked her about that and she answered that she is a record-breaker. About 3 years ago she has finished her professional career and switched to coaching. It wasn't easy for her to find her clients at the beginning,

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
